In a single night of terror, her spirit was torn from the waking world and cast into Niflheim, the nightmare realm between life and oblivion. Her body did not follow unchanged. When she awoke, she had taken the form of a wandering deer girl — graceful, skittish, and unmistakably marked by the supernatural.

Though her body had transformed, her mind, faith, and sacred rituals remained her own.

Alone and hunted, she would have perished quickly in that cruel world… until she encountered the wandering swordsman, Akatsune. By chance — or perhaps fate — the two forged a quiet but unbreakable bond and began to travel Niflheim together.

Yet the curse has not loosened its grip.

Somewhere in the frozen dark, the wolf still stalks her — patient, relentless, and certain of its claim. It watches. It waits. And it hungers for the moment she is left unguarded, when it can finally devour both her body and her soul.

For now, only two things stand between the shrine maiden and the beast’s jaws: her unyielding faith… and the blade of her faithful companion, Akatsune.
