Forever scampering across the trecherous reaches of Niflheim in search of those curious, coveted snacks said to swell a creature’s size or shrink its sensibilities, the most dashing of White Rabbits hustles along with grand importance. He simply cannot—will not!—risk being late in returning the Queen’s precious morsels to the regal and rather fearsome Red Queen Empusa.

Yet fate, as it often does, conspires against punctual rabbits. For at every bend in the jagged path appears that troublesome, tantalizingly playful Neko Alice—a creature whose antics are so beguilingly distracting that even the most duty-bound rabbit may find himself pausing, flustering, and fluffing his fur in the most undignified manner.

“Oh dear,” he murmurs, ears quivering. “If only distractions weren’t so terribly delightful!”
