Formations

Introduction

Formations offer a variety of different bonuses and influence skill ranges in battle. You can increase the number of formations available to you by increasing the Player Growth Attribute Tactician Tactician.

Examples

The following table has several examples of starting formations and how the range of skills can affect creatures within them. For a more thorough explanation of skill ranges, go here.

Battle Bonuses

During battle your creature's position in a formation affects their defensive and offensive abilities.

  • Creatures to the front of a formation, which is marked red, receive a 10% bonus to their STR/MGC/DEX and a 10% reduction to their VIT/RES/SPD.
  • Creatures to the middle of a formation, which is marked purple, receive no bonuses.
  • Creatures to the back of a formation, which is marked blue, receive a 10% reduction to their STR/MGC/DEX and a 10% increase to their VIT/RES/SPD.

During battle the opposing creature's formation is mirrored, so do not worry about the effects changing during PVP.

Guarding & Dodging

Creatures receive a 5% bonus to both VIT and RES if they are next to an ally that is alive within their formation. Creatures away from each other receive a 5% bonus to SPD regardless of the state of their allies.
